Superheroes need sidekicks. That’s where you fly in. There’s a role out there for you…

There are so many roles on offer in early years and childcare. If you like the sound of being your own boss, then becoming a childminder could be for you. They offer early education and childcare for babies, toddlers and children, usually in their own homes.

To become a childminder, you’ll need to register as a childminder with Ofsted or a childminder agency. You could also become a childminder assistant, working under the supervision of a childminder.

Some childminders may also offer wraparound childcare. This is childcare that is provided outside of normal school hours, such as breakfast or after school clubs. You don’t need any formal qualifications for this role. Read more about wraparound childcare here.
